AML Audits and Compliance Reviews
Independent audits are required to be undertaken by reporting entities every two years (soon changing to three); our section 59 basic, and detailed audit services satisfy the requirements to have an independent audit conducted. We also provide document review and compliance review services, which are effective pre-audit tools to give you a view of where you level of compliance sits.
AML Policy Documents
Custom AML Compliance Documents
We can draft afresh, AML risk assessments, AML compliance programmes (any supporting documents). Risk assessments are required to be conducted, before the institution of a Compliance Programme. We work with you to collect relevent business data, and operations information and then fully draft your Compliance Programme. Your programme will become your guide, and will tell you what to do in a particular situation. Unlike other consultants, we include procedures in our costings when providing new policy documents.
Enhance Existing AML Complinace Documents
This is an AML Policy document review. We can review, provide recommendations, and impliment recommendations into existing AML Compliance Documents to keep them current, effective, manage and mitigate the risk of ML and FT occuring. Your documents should be reviewed at least annually, but we recommend they’re amended and reviewed sooner than this.

Remedial Services
Remediation is our specialist area. Remediation plans may be required due to findings from an Independent audit, an Internal audit, an on-site inspection or other findings. It can be better to have an objective and independent lens when planning remediation. We can work with you to provide a remediation plan, tailored to ensure we address all deficiencies. Our remediation plans often include tactical advice to positively engage with regulators, should the need arise; and how to continue fostering those stakeholder relationships.

Shawn Hawkins
Shawn is the Principal Consultant, and founder of Hawkins Consulting, which predominantly specialises in AML/CFT Compliance. He holds a Diploma in Law (legal executive studies) and is also an experienced AML/CFT Compliance Officer for a large reporting entity, providing registered addresses across 20 national locations.
Shawn has first-hand experience remediating severe cases of non-compliance. This coupled with his legal qualification, and ongoing experience as a Compliance Officer gives Shawn an edge, and an intricate apprehension of the AML/CFT Act 2009, together with Privacy Law. He has a clear understanding of the expectations both from an audit and regulatory point of view.
